Electrification work on Jaipur-Delhi rail route is likely to be completed by March 31. Authorities of North Western Railway (NWR) on Sunday (9th February 2020) said civil and electric work was almost complete except a patch of 22 km between Bassi and Jaipur.
After completion, travel time between Jaipur and Delhi will be curtailed at least by 20 minutes. Though the project has already missed its previous deadlines, authorities are optimistic to complete commissioner rail safety inspection by February-end between Bandikui and Bassi.
“On the route, we have a patch of only 22 km left where laying of electric poles, cabling and other work is going on at a fast pace. Work between Delhi and Bassi is complete. CRS inspection is likely to be completed by February end,” said a senior officer of NWR on Sunday.
“On the Bassi-Jaipur route, laying of electric poles and cables is on and it is going on a fast pace. Though our deadline is March 31, we might complete it before that,” the officer added. NWR chief public relations officer Abhay Sharma said, “Hopefully, traction work including laying of electric poles and cables and other technical work will get over by March 31 on the Jaipur-Delhi route.”
