With electrification of the Byappanahalli-Hosur railway line to be commissioned by April, thousands of intra-city commuters, especially techies working in Bellandur, Electronics City and Sarjapur, are likely to benefit as the section runs along Outer Ring Road (ORR).
As part of the electrification of the Byappanahalli-Hosur line, the commissioner of rail safety inspected the 34 km Byappanahalli-Anekal section on Thursday. Bengaluru divisional railway manager Ashok Kumar Verma said the inspection was successful and they are expecting a positive report. SWR will operate MEMU trains on the Byappanahalli-Hosur section after the completion of electrification.
