South Central Railway (SCR) has introduced doorstep delivery of essential medicines for railway employees and pensioners in and around the twin cities. “To begin with, this facility has been started across three divisions in the twin states at Hyderabad, Vijayawada, and Guntakal. The facility can be availed by serving railway employees and pensioners, and family pensioners living across the cities,” reads an official statement from SCR.
“In the state, the facility is being served by Central Railway Hospital Lallaguda, Health Unit in Moula Ali and Kacheguda,” the statement adds. Medicines are being delivered through volunteers, scouts and civil defence personnel. Employees are being provided medicines that would last them up to two months.
In addition, telemedicine and teleconsultation support facility through WhatsApp has also been started for addressing minor ailments. Employees can directly call the hospital and avail the services by providing their details like unique medical identity (UMID), designation, department, and place of work.
