Commissioner Railway Safety (CRS) of South East Circle A K Rai on Wednesday (22nd July 2020) conducted speed trial run on the newly laid second railway track from Charamulakusimi – Jeypore in Kottavalasa-Kirandul Line in the Eastern Ghats. The train run was successful.
The 20.704 km track was laid as part of the doubling of Kottavalasa-Kirandul railway line, said Rai, who was accompanied by Visakhapatnam based Waltair Divisional Railway Manager Chetan Kumar Shrivastava, BK Gupta, chief administrative officer, East Coast Railway zone, KD Rao among others.
Depending on the report to be submitted by the committee, the train services will be operated in this newly constructed double line. During the inspection the CRS examined tracks and signal system before testing the speed trial of the train. Speed trial is conducted to determine the maximum permissible speed at which trains would be allowed to run, if the section is found fit for carriage of passenger traffic.
