Indian Railways has extended the bid submission date for running private trains by a month. It has set October 7 as the fresh deadline after several interested bidders had sought more time from the National Transporter during the last pre-bid meeting held on August 12.
Sources said the demand was raised by citing that the railways had uploaded the draft concession agreement barely two days before the prebid meet and the bidders needed to go through it properly.
“They had stated that many of them were in talks with the firms they will collaborate before putting the final bid. The railways had said their request would be considered. We have modified the bid submission date,” said a source.
