Prakash Upadhyay has joined as Additional Divisional Railway Manager (Additional DRM) of Pune Division, the officials of the division said on 3rd March, Wednesday. Prior to this, he was working as a professor at the Indian Railway Institute of Civil Engineering (IRICEN) at Pune.
Prakash Upadhyay has vast experience of working in various positions. He is a 1999 batch officer of the Indian Railways Civil Engineering Service. He has done BE from Pune University and ME from Gorakhpur Engineering College. “Upadhyay has held important positions in the Civil Engineering Department on Indian Railways.
He started his carrier as an Assistant Engineer from Etawah and served in various positions at places like Jhansi, Allahabad, Agra. He has specialized experience in track machine related works. While working on the post of Senior Divisional Engineer on Agra division, he gave his distinguished services in maintaining the Gatiman route 160 kmph in Agra division.
Also he was instrumental in successfully completing the trial run of Vande Bharat Train-18 Express in Agra-Palwal section at 180 kmph,” a rail official, talking about him, said. Upadhayay was instrumental in renovating Mathura station. For his wide contribution, he was awarded with the Railway Minister Award. He has also been awarded with the General Manager award for the best performance.
