Manoj Sharma, an officer of the Indian Railway Service of Engineering (IRSE) of the 1985 batch, has joined East Coast Railway as general manager. Prior to the new posting, Sharma was working as chief administrative officer (Construction) of Central Railway (CR) in Mumbai.
He has also worked as Divisional Railway Manager (DRM)/ Ratlam in Western Railway, as chief engineer in Northern Railway, at Delhi, as chief general manager, in the National Highway Authority of India (N.H.A.I.) in Delhi, and as a joint director or director in Research Design and Standards Organisation (R.D.S.O) at Lucknow.
Sharma, a civil engineer with a degree from the University of Roorkee and a master’s in technology from IIT Delhi, joined Indian Railways in 1987. He has a wealth of experience in project construction and commissioning, and has held various roles in various Ministries such as RDSO Lucknow, NHAI and others. Sharma has a diverse background of education and experience. In addition to his MTech from IIT Delhi, he has gained valuable knowledge and expertise through his work in various government organizations and ministries. He also completed a course in Public Administration at the Indian Institute of Public Administration in Delhi in 2011.
