Railway Board member (Infrastructure) Roop Narayan Sunkar on Monday, 24 April 2023 reviewed the performance of the East Coast Railway (ECoR) with respect to infrastructural development in this region.
Sunkar focussed on joint cooperation and mutual understanding between various agencies of the Centre and state governments and with stakeholders like industries, ports and corporate agencies. He also reviewed the ongoing works for redevelopment of Puri and Cuttack stations.
He advised officials to provide facilities at these stations targeting the comfort of passengers, especially tourists and pilgrims apart from facilities for the common public. He also told officials to focus on the speedy completion of the project especially, passenger centric amenities.
“Completion of project works in the target period should be given priority,” said Sunkar.
ECoR general manager Manoj Sharma, additional general manager Sharad Kumar Srivastava and other principal heads of the departments of ECoR were present in the review meeting.
